Responsibilities

By City Charter, the Finance Department manages and maintains financial records in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and in conformance with State and Federal laws. The department develops and maintains effective financial planning, reporting, and central support systems in order to assist operating departments in achieving their program objectives. The department consists of eight divisions comprised of Finance Administration, Accounting, Payroll, Budget, Business Licenses, Printing Services, Purchasing and Revenue Management.

Transient Occupancy Tax - 909-620-2091

 

For the privilege of occupancy in any hotel, each transient is subject to and shall pay a tax in the amount of ten percent of the rent charged by the operator. Such tax constitutes a debt owed by the transient to the City which is extinguished only by payment to the operator. The transient shall pay the tax to the operator of the hotel at the time the rent is paid. The operator is required to submit the collected tax to the City.Each hotel must be registered with the City and update the registration with every change in ownership or management.
