2771 N. Garey Avenue "Bonita Station"(DPR 5953-2016)  - Status - In Review


Project Description

     The applicant is requesting a Development Plan Review for the construction of a 650 unit multi-family residential development on an 8.44 acre project site located at 2771 N. Garey Avenue. The development will consist of four and five-story buildings. The project is intended to address the planning principles outlilned in the Pomona North Metrolink Station Area Plan and will require the demoliltion/removal of the existing industrial buildings onsite. The subject site is located within the Transit Oriented District Segment of the Pomona Corrridors Specific Plan (CSP). It is named the "Bonita Station" due to its adjacency to the existing rail line and future Gold Line platform, and the architectual inspiration for the project is drawn from the recently revitalized packing house in Claremont.

     The project will be designed to Cal Green specifications and will utilize drought tolerant landscapinbg features as well as energy saving appliances. It will consist of four and five story multifamily residential buildings that will cater to those who work in the area and or utilize its close proximity to the metro station and educational institutions. Project features will include: a "state of the art" fitness facility and resort recreational area, high end interior finishes, "tech areas" envissioned as outdoor gathering spaces with full Wi-Fi, environmentally sustainable features and large community courtyards. Moreover, the project will be a TOD (Transit Oriented Development) which will provide reduced traffic impacts for the surrounding community.
