Citywide Yard Sales

It’s true that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!  And a yard sale is the ideal way to recycle your formerly favorite items.

Yard sale weekends for 2020 are suspended:

In accordance with current Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines, yards sales in the City of Pomona are suspended until further notice.

Because yard sales are unpermitted and not licensed businesses, they are not considered part of the retail sector and are instead seen as unregulated events and gatherings, and this type of activity is prohibited under the Health Officer Order.

Additionally, our Health Officer Order FAQ includes answers related to the following topics:

  • Gatherings and events (page 8)
  • Having visitors to your home (page 4)

Any changes to public health orders that may allow for yard sales in the future will be shared on our social media outlets and at ci.pomona.ca.us prior to any potential yard sale weekends.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Code Enforcement at (909) 620-2324 or through our PomonaGo App.

Some important guidelines:

Signs may not be posted on public property  (for example, telephone poles, streetlights, traffic signs or city trees).

Violation of the City’s yard sale ordinance or posting illegal signage on public property may result in a citation and a fine.
